Interview: KIRSTEN WELSH
Kirsten Welsh has been pushing boundaries and defying odds ever since she first hit the ice as a young kid. Her competitiveness and skills on ice landed her a scholarship to play hockey in the States postsecondary where she regularly lead the CHA in points for a defenseman and won awards such as CHA Defender of the Year. Since 2019, Kirsten has been developing as a referee making history as the first woman to officiate in the OHL in 2021. Her passion for bringing more women into that side of the game is abundant and her message is being heard loud and clear. In this interview, we talk about what these whirlwind three years have meant to Kirsten, the support she's received to get to where she is now and the future of a sustainable women's league.

IIHF Women's World Championship - Will Canada three-peat?
Natalie Spooner, Jamie Lee Rattray and Sarah Nurse are dialled in and ready to defend Canada’s title here on home soil. I caught up with them ahead of the IIHF Women's World Championship to discuss managing expectations, what it’s like to play against their PWHPA teammates, stories they wished would get more attention coming out of women’s hockey and what they want to see from a new league when it arrives.
